It’s no secret Spain is the go to destination for sun seeking tourists – even David Cameron and Ed Miliband have relaxed in Ibiza in recent times. If your maths is a bit rusty that’s nearly 18 million tourists from these shores.

Its enviable mix of rustic charm, natural beauty and modern infrastructure make Majorca one of the most popular destinations for British property buyers. Not everyone lives in the south of England, so if you live further north you’ll be pleased to hear that Vueling introduced a new service from Edinburgh to Alicante in April – unlocking the door to the Costa Blanca. This Spanish low-cost carrier is also increasing capacity on flights from Cardiff to Alicante, Barcelona, Malaga and Palma Majorca this summer by 16% – increasing seat capacity to more than 190,000.
Anyone in the north-west will be able to hop on a new Thomas Cook flight to Malaga – the gateway to the Costa del Sol – from Manchester Airport. This is a welcome addition to the flight roster to Spain’s ever popular sunshine coast.
