The village of San Miguel de Salinas sits on a hill above the pink Laguna de Torrevieja and offers impressive views over the countryside to this working lake with its salt piles. It is a quaint inland town with a traditional church square, town hall, tourist office, the Las Cuevas cave houses, a main high street, band stand, a municipal open air swimming pool for use during the summer and a busy street market every Wednesday morning.
Included within the limits of San Miguel de Salinas is the urbanisation area of Entre Naranjos, near Jacarilla’s Vistabella golf course, and the hamlet of Rebate near the Pedrera reservoir.
This popular town is situated just a ten minute drive from the beaches at Torrevieja and Punta Prima and has great accessibility to other local towns such as Los Montesinos, Ciudad Quesada, Campoamor and Guardamar del Segura.
With a good selection of tapas bars and restaurants, there is always somewhere to enjoy some food and drink. There are plenty of shops and other amenities in the town to utilise.
Numerous golf courses are a short drive away, while there are some great cycle tracks, sports facilities and paths to walk along. Because of the situation on top of the hill, there are some amazing views across towards the Salt Lakes of Torrevieja, the sea at Campoamor and the local countryside.
San Miguel has plenty of fiesta´s throughout the year, where the main High Street is closed off and people can sample different types of tapas, stop off at one of the beer tents and then finish watching the firework display.
A forty five minute drive to Alicante airport and twenty five minutes to San Javier (Murcia)
